How do you create your own custom flag?

To create a custom flag, start by going to FlagMagic.com and clicking the "Build a Flag" button in the top menu bar or at the bottom of any page on our site. On this screen you will have access to all of our different designs and symbols. Click on an image that interests you from one of these collections: Pirate flags, golf, holidays, or any of the other choices being added daily.

Once you have chosen a designer, you will be taken to the "Flag Customizer" screen. This is where you can customize your flag however you like. You can choose the text color, font, and size; as well as the background color and image. If you would like to be able to add your own custom text and images, let us know. We are adding content all the time.

Step 1 of the design process you are able to select your color and pattern, as well as our high quality custom graphics created by our design team of graphic artists. We are different because we allow you to create customized flags without the need for professional graphic designers. We do not currently allow you to use your own graphics because we want to ensure the custom flag printing is top quality. Here is where you can also select between single sided printing and double sided printing.

After you have made your selections in step 1. You are now able to see what your personalized flags look like in step 2. This is the easiest way to design online and still have a product you can be confident in the custom flag design accuracy and dye sublimation printing process.

Step 3 couldn't be easier. Just purchase through one of our many options, if you don't see a way you like please contact our customer service representatives and we'll see how we can make it work. As you can see the printed flag looks very much like the flags shown on the website. For large orders, we my be able to provide a free proof with a deposit.

Flag Fabric

Our polyester flags are made of top quality ingredients. The polyester material uses a printing process called "dye sublimation printing process" to chemically bond the ink to the fabric of our custom flags. Our polyester material is the right blend of being weather resistant, having maximum durability, while not having the down sides of rigid signs.

Cotton flags are not as weather resistant as polyester flags. They will eventually rot or mold if they get wet often. The cotton flag material uses a printing process called "direct to garment printing" which prints the ink onto the fabric of our custom flags. DTG does not have the durability that dye sublimation has, making it less likely to receive proper care.

Single sided flags

A single sided custom flag is our most popular choice, and are perfect for flying from a flagpole or using as a wall hanging. They are one layer, and thus they are light weight and great for outdoor use as well as hanging from a flexible pole. A

Grommets are metal rings that allow you to attach your flag to a flagpole or other object. In the future we may include an option for a pole sleeve.

Double sided flags

Double sided flags are show the color fully on both sides. We quickly included a double sided option due to outdoor events requiring They are great if you need to have a clear image on both sides, it avoids having a reverse image. They are individually printed and sewn together and finished with brass grommets. Double sided printing options avoid having a mirror image on the backside like the single sided flag.

Flag pole

A pole is required for flying single sided flags outside. Single-sided outdoor flags may also be attached to an indoor stand such as a free standing base or window mount holder, depending on your preference of display. Outdoor poles are recommended for double-sided flags since there is a single reverse of the image on the backside of the flag when custom flag printing single sided.

The standard flagpole will hold up in most weather conditions. However, if your flag is going to be subject repeated inclement weather you may want to have one flag for everyday use and one flag for your flag pole.

Flag poles come in different shapes and sizes. A standard diameter flag pole will allow you to use pole sleeves or grommets. Our brass grommets are high quality hand attached, they are not optional hardware. You could use zip ties to hold the flag up but proper care of the flag would say to use weather proof attachments for your flag pole. Pole sleeves slip over the flag pole and hold in place rather well, they just don't allow the flag the full motion than custom outdoor flags deserve.

Flag Shapes

Currently we do not carry feather flags, vinyl banners, or bumper stickers. We are solely focused on custom flags, single sided and double sided, using vector format (high resolution) to ensure a beautiful flag.

Sports Flags

Because of copy right laws we cannot print any professional or collegiate team logos. If you have a favorite sports team and you want them to be on your flag we can use the teams colors, but not their logo. For this reason, there is no logo flag available at this time.

Military Flags

We currently do not carry military flags, but are looking to add that as a new collection in the very near future. If you have a design request around a double sided flag or any flag in general please let us know. We'll keep you in the loop.

Shipping

Currently we do not offer free shipping on single flag orders. Most orders ship UPS ground and are very inexpensive. If you would like free shipping, please send us a note and if you have a large enough order of custom flags we'll work something out.
